The Oktoberfest we knew today began as a celebration of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. Over the years it grew and evolved to keep the party going. It moved from its early October start date to a mid-September start, to take advantage of the milder weather. Other changes and modifications were made to make it the festival so many people flock to Germany to take part in every year.
At The Barrelhouse, we're ready to be a part of the next step in this great tradition and we're excited to invite you all to celebrate Hoptoberfest with us, a celebration of the greatest relationship we could think of, even more perfect than Ludwig & Therese's romance -the marriage of delicious hoppy beer and our customers discerning palates!
We already have The Saratoga Strings Band rockin' things every Thursday night and it's Ramen Night, so great food and music were covered. The only other thing a great party needs is great beer. We're pretty sure we've never had trouble coming through on that one every Thursday either, but for the next few weeks, we're going to do our best to out do ourselves. Every Thursday, at 6pm we'll be tapping a fresh keg of a great, hoppy, New York State beer. What better way to show off the bounty of the land than featuring killer brews from right in our backyard? Plus, since American's have never really wrapped their head around Oktoberfest happening in September, we'll keep it running from the traditional start of Oktoberfest through the end of October. That's a lot of rockin' Thursday's!
Follow this page, and follow us on Beermenus.com, and we'll keep you up to date on which beer and brewery we'll be featuring each week.
