Warm weather brings a plethora of open-air activities for us Saratogians, and one of our favorites for a slow summer morning (or afternoon) is a trip to the farmers market. There’s no shortage of top-notch producers and artisans in our area, and we’re lucky enough to have them come together outdoors several times a week during the milder months (plus indoors on weekends over the winter).

There are two major markets in town and both pride themselves on the high standards they set for their vendors. You’ll find everything from fresh seasonal foods to unique craft goods and it’s all, of course, provided by small local businesses. Pop on over to pick up your weekly groceries, grab a gift for someone special, or just spend some time perusing the stands and sampling the summer bounty. Listen to live music and enjoy delicious prepared foods as you shop and chat with neighbors, all while supporting the community.

SARATOGA FARMERS MARKET

LOCATION: High Rock Park Pavilions, 105 High Rock Avenue

DAY/TIME: Wednesdays 3:00pm-6:00pm, Saturdays 9:00am-1:00pm (May-October)

PARKING: On-street parking on High Rock Avenue and nearby streets. Free lot on the corner of Lake Avenue and High Rock Avenue, which fills up fast on summer weekends. Get there early for best parking.

TIP: If you happen to over-shop at the Saturday market (not hard!) take advantage of the Veggie Valet, located in the tent across from the Market Shed. For a small fee, which benefits a community organization, you’ll get a wagon and a helper to lug your loot to the car.

*Note: WINTER MARKET (November-April): Lincoln Baths, 65 S. Broadway, Saturdays 9:00am-1:00pm

SPA CITY FARMERS MARKET

LOCATION: Front Lawn of the Lincoln Baths, 65 S. Broadway

DAY/TIME: Sundays 10:00am-3:00pm (May-October)

PARKING: Ample free parking in the Lincoln Baths lots.

TIP: The Spa City Market is dog-friendly, and because it’s located in the Spa State Park, it’s extra convenient to get your shopping and dog walking done in one trip. Pick up some prepared food from one of the vendors and head to the park for a picnic. We’d recommend grabbing the rest of your weekly perishables post-picnic, especially during the hot summer months!

*Note: WINTER MARKET (November-April): Lincoln Baths, 65 S. Broadway, Sundays 10:00am-2:00pm
